Navigation is all about the structure of your website and is part of the website’s design. Also, navigation consists of links that leads users to different parts of your website. However , it isn’t only limited to the structure of a website but also includes how a user navigates throughout a website.
The more the website structure is, the more that navigation by the user becomes easier. Therefore, when navigation isn’t set up properly, users won’t engage with your website at all leading to high bounce rates, so it won’t rank on search engines.
5- Images that are not optimized
Images can appear beautiful; however, they can affect SEO if they aren’t optimized using SEO. When images are SEO optimized, they can speed up page loading speed, increase user engagement, and search engine ranking.
Those without SEO optimization can have images that don’t get read by search engines.
6- Improper redirects
A redirect is a way to send users and search engines to a different URL from the one that was originally requested. Redirects are used especially when moving content to a new URL.
Improper redirects will actually cause your users to not find website content that they are searching for and instead will show errors such as 404 “not found errors”, where it means that the pages that you wanted to access on the website aren’t found on the server.
7- Messy URLs
These are URLs that are hard for search engines to read and use for indexing purposes. Having these messy URLs can actually stop your website from the ranking because they contain elements that aren’t suitable when search engines crawl and index your website.

Page speed is another factor that helps with achieving good search rankings. The slower the website, the more that it will affect your position in search results.
A slow page speed will affect bots by making them crawl fewer pages which will affect your website being indexed in Google.
9- Local search
Websites that use local search marketing which is a form of search engine optimization are more likely to show in search results relevant to local searches. So, when businesses don’t take advantage of local search, they miss many opportunities to rank.
10-Too much flash
Flash is a technology that is used to show animation on a webpage. However, websites with lots of flash can actually hinder search engine robots from crawling and indexing your webpages which will affect ranking.
